CAAD4 Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 No. I have been using both Nike and Oakley products, which I think are high quality products, since before Lance. Will I ever ride a Trek? Unlikely...
TNT1 Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Actually an interesting question. When the Tiger Woods sex thingy broke, Nike dropped him like a miner in Marikana. And yet they stand by Lance.Weird.
fabes Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Actually an interesting question. When the Tiger Woods sex thingy broke, Nike dropped him like a miner in Marikana. And yet they stand by Lance.Weird.Tiger admitted to Pomping around
TNT1 Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Tiger admitted to Pomping around Touche. Maybe when Lance owns up we can start respecting him again?
dre Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 I won't. They make excellent products. It's business, and they obviously feel that continueing backing Lance won't harm their reputation. I don't think they will take such a decision lightly. Also, Lance still maintains he didn't dope. Even if he did, most pro cyclists do... . But anyway, I'd stay a fan of Lance and those products.I think it's kinda stupid to boycott a product, only because they made a rational business decision that won't harm anyone at all...
scotty Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Touche. Maybe when Lance owns up we can start respecting him again?I assume its a yes from you then.
Li Mu Bai Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 lol, boycott good products because of LA? Cut off your nose to spite your face... mikkelz and dre 2
TNT1 Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 I assume its a yes from you then. When I said that?
TNT1 Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 PS, I am an Adidas man, not a Nike man.And Rudy Project over Oakley. So kinda moo point for me, you know? Like a cow's opinion. But I find it an interesting question none the less. petatodd 1
fabes Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 (edited) Touche. Maybe when Lance owns up we can start respecting him again?I never really respected Tiger after he messed up, if Nike continued to support him I would not have boycotted Nike products Edited September 9, 2012 by fabes
petatodd Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 lol, boycott good products because of LA? Cut off your nose to spite your face...Equally good products made by Rudy Project, adidas, New Balance, Cannondale, Spesh. All without the smell of Big Tex around them. Having said that I could use a nose job. Bob reckons I've got a duck face anyway.
Starvin' Marvin Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 I love my Nike shoes and Oakleys. I dont like trek bikes. So no I won't stop buying becuase they sponser LA.
Grebel Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 What about all the good athletes that Nike, Oakley etc sponsor...? Should they suffer as well because of 1 cheat? I saw more than one swoosh at the Para's recently and doesn't Oscar wear Oakleys? Just saying....
Sandro Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 As soon as they've finished boycotting Woolorths... Maybe he did dope but he also beat the rest of the dopers. After he overcame cancer. I'm so tired of this holier than thou crap, he's done a lot for charities and cancer awareness all over the world. If I could afford to I'd sponsor him myself.
fabes Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 (edited) The difference between this and other similar actions is that Armstrong still enjoys huge public support and there are still serious questions about the method used to find him "guilty". I suspect that any boycot (especially in SA) would have about the same impact as the recent Woolworths Boycot. Currently Woolworths is getting the sympathy vote from the majority of the public yeah that boycot didn't last to long, I was there again today and the q was into the isle Edited September 9, 2012 by fabes
Breezer Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 I will buy these products, just not at Woolworths.
