The Va's don't joke around. Got my @ss handed to me on a gold, silver, bronze and paper platter.

At least now I know I have a lot of work to do.

I died out there today. I bombed out quite early after a big effort to try catch the CL bunch after the mud road, big mistake. Also started cramping at about 80kms, first time this happened to me. Only managed a 3:42, oh well, I'll just have to train harder for the next one!!

Jissie some okes donnered down around us (mix of GL and some other groups) :( - heard from my medic mate 2 or 3 collarbones ....... I escaped unscathed this time!

Just before the 95km mark, after turning left to go up parallel to the R59 a bloke in our group went off the road on the left and bought a huge farm. Not sure how he managed it to do it The wind made for nervous moments in the groups with a bit of lateral movement from time to time.

Personally, unscathed other for the ego (my fault, not enough tits :( )

Big up to the organizers, well marshaled, water points didn't seem to run out of drink, even had bananas. Can of coke and bottle of water at the finish. I reckon other organizers can learn a lot from these guys. Just a pity about the wiiiiiind. And that mud bath in the beginning, I got mud in places I didn't even know my bike had places.

Yep - well organised. Only complaint was the lead vehicles for the tandems and VAs not taking the final left turn. Luckily we ignored our lead vehicle, but Jules & Nic got lost...
