How come no response from Bridge cycles yet? Anyone work there here?

Ok, Bridge has been going for years and is probably one of the most successful bike shops in Cape Town. They almost always have stock and are almost always super busy. They have to be doing something right. I too have had workshop issues from time to time but they have always made things right.

I bought an Epic from them a couple of years ago, had huge problems with it on several occasions, told all the wrong people about the problems I was having until I sat down with Fizal and he sorted me out.

I can honestly say that I don't believe its intention of management to rip people off. We all have staff problems and I am sure if he sat down with Fizal this will get sorted.

Its amazing how we only remember the bad, I'm sure your mate has had a few acceptable experiences at bridge. Its a great store and they do try!

@Bongs,

Based on the opening post, the matter was escalated to a decision-maker / owner and their management of a customer concern was 'poor'...

@ Dale,I'm sure they will resolve this. I don't think it's a good time for the Osman family right now but I'm sure they will come to the party. ;)

Fizal was the one who walked away when my mate got a bit agro... a "I don't care attitude"... this was my mate's first visit to Bridge, and in my many years of cycling I've never had good service there either... I'd rather drive a bit further and get decent service at Crown Cycles...

ARE YOU CRAZY??? I wouldn't take my wheelbarrow to cycleteknix...it has too many moving parts for them to figure out. Got my bike serviced there and gears were not functioning afterwards, went for a refill on slime in one tyre and I waited 2 hours with every excuse under the sun why its not working even though I gave wheel to them already pumped up. Owner sees them having a hard time and takes the high road.

Best is to deal with Hanber(owner) directly, that's why I haven't had any issues with them.As for your wheel barrow, I do agree, not the ideal place-try a hardware store

So the only way to get good service is to deal with the owner... shows how k#k they really are then...

and from customers who were in teh shop at teh time the reports were that your mate went off like a lunatic and started accusing people before the facts were in.

the flip side of the story is that your mates parts were packed in a bag in front for Demietri's attention. He wasn;t there and the mechanic forgot to tell him about it. When your mate arrived and wanted his bike, he saw it standing on the side with "not his parts".

It took some time to sort out who placed the parts but they were found under the counter at the front desk. If anyone was wanting to steal from your friend it would have been found in a mechanics back pack.

it was an honest misunderstanding but your chum never gave anyone an opportunity to explain. considering that Fizal had a brother on his death bed and an irate unreasonable customer standing in front of him, throwing his toys out of the cot in front of other customers, I;m not surprised that FIzal walked away.

Read that whichever way you want. I've been a customer of Bridge Cycles since 1988 when they first started selling bike spares from a little cabinet next to the Wilson Blocks. They have never stolen from me, except when they had one individual who I shall not name but they asked him to leave once they got wind of what he was up too.

Lessons to be learned form both sides: COMMUNICATION.

the behaviour displayed that day was uncalled for, condescending, down right rude for what was a simple communication mistake. you make your choice but I'll be supporting Bridge for many years to come.

Cheers

That part was never explained...a valuable lesson learned before...it does not help to scream at the other person, in the end the problem will get resolved if screaming or talking, the only difference is when screaming you are being a total d@@s where talking atleast the guy can admit mistake, they fix it, come back next time, chat...make a buddy...get discount....etc....

When my bro used to race we always got great service and stuff from Bridge, sometimes they will even lend us a wheel so he can go compete if his was busy being fixed...
