What area do you live in?

Did you have a burglar bar on the window?

Sorry to hear of your loss, but at least you all slept through most of it and didn't come face to face with the burglars, u never know what weapons they might have had.

Glad everyone is safe.

I have a case in constantia where Adt are caught on camera talking to the robbers a few minutes before the breakins, follow that up with the police, Adt could be involved

Here in JHB we use Safika. They control the whole boomed of suburb and patrol it with two cars. I have triggered the alarm accidentally a couple of times and they are in my garden, guns out, within a minute. Gives a lot of peace of mind.

Try go for the security company that clearly "owns" the neighbourhood.

Possesions can be replaced...people cant.

I have no problem if i get cleaned out completely...just leave my wife and kids alone.

The only *** thing is the feeling of violation.

Be strong...

Good advice,

In /benoni its CMS....those okes are serious.

I came home the other day, they had my gardner on the ground with a knee in the face and guns to his head...

He accidently Pushed the panic button whilst trying to open up the gate.

He kakked himself.

It helps when they militant. A couple of months ago the one of the Safika guards shot a would be robber in the leg.

Funny, this is not the first instance where I heard of a break-in just after a security company have visited the home to fit 'upgrades'. Since the 'upgrade' did not work, I would hold ADT liable for some damage claims. But you will find that they are covered in the fine print somewhere.

eish, bro... not cool! But as you say, as long as the wife & kids are okay, you can build up from the experience and carry on. Never cool when something like this happens.

The counselling is a good thing to have. I thought I was harder than that when I got 'jacked, but all it did was leave me high and dry until I talked to someone about it, who was able to steer me in the right direction. Mates, as good as they are, don't come across this sort of thing in their day to day business, and can't claim to have any knowledge on what will or won't work for you.

That psych needs to be contacted.

Glad you're safe though dude... could have been a whole lot worse. And watch your wife. For her (as mine was) the intrusion will hit FAR harder than it will you. It's even more important for her to go to the shrink...

SA mentality is really a thing of "i'm sorry to hear but glad you're okay"... and yes iI'm super happy you guys are all fine, coz life if priceless and as long as we are okay in these situations its good but it still doesn't make it OKAY for others to come in and take what they want from you!!!!

Dammit!! We work hard for the things we want and have man!!!!

Makes me so angry :cursing:
