Armstrong considers lie detector test to prove innocence

Polygraph tests are about 55% accurate and that's why they are not used in courts.

Lance is desperate and knows that and he knows that the results could swing his way with some of the witnesses.

I think that this is just a desperate PR attempt.

Interesting.

I was led to believe they are 95% accurate.

I use them regularly on my staff to test for theft etc.

CCMA accepts them.

I am currently reading Tyler Hamilton's book "The Secret Race".He leaves no doubt at all whether he and others like Lance were already doping a long time ago.

He even mentions that Lance could probably pass a lie detector test as he has convinced himself that he is not guilty and did not cheat (probably because everyone else was also using EPO,Testosterone,Cortisone etc etc)

Lance was always my hero but even I have to admit that he cheated.

They are very inaccurate.

I was asked if I had a small willy with a medium sized motorbike and truck.

I said yes, and the machine didn't pick up the lie.

I was also under the impression that they were more accurate, but I also know that they are not accepted as evidence without corroboration in the legal system. You can beat them with "dope", so a blood and urine test needs to accompany them to improve credibility.

I realise its a bit off topic...but what is the best method of lie detection then...

VSA? Poligraph, spanish inquisition style torture???

Taking no sides here, but perhaps just a little bit of devils advocate.

Everyone makes reference to this book of doggy lovers.

It is based on his words and his opinions, so not to say it's a very accurate account.

The body reacts to what the mind believes..... :whistling:

yeah - beta blockers are known to work well for fooling polygraph tests

I know CCMA does but nobody has objected to it.If it were to be tested in court it would most likely be stopped.

SAPS also use them as a investigation tool but can't be used in a court.Out of a group of 10 suspects it can narrow it down to 2 or 3.

This type of line seems to be a standard response from you, I suspect it is because you are at the outer limits of your intellect. Why is it necessary to get into a posters character if you do not agree with his opinion.

DaLoCo you are wrong. Why should posters be allowed to post the rubbish we have seen in the last few days about the doping issue and believe it to be true or factual when all the evidence is to the contrary? Clearly an IQ issue.

good grief. I nearly died reading that. There's no punctuation. how the hell do I know when to breathe

I'm so tired of weekend warriors who have no frikkin clue. I guess this being a public forum, there is no IQ test to be allowed to post.

Go read kimmages book, hamiltons book and the USADA report. Then come give us your now educated opinion.

You need to breath when reading to yourself? This line spoils an otherwise excellent next point. And then it's spoiled by the 3rd point. Please don't invite them to come back and give us any opinion on the the matter of doping, big Tex, or lie detector tests because with their IQs they are not going to be considered or educated.

Despite our so called world class labour laws, CCMA is hardly an outpost of 1st world justice and fairness.

Has Armstrong himself said he wants to go this route or is just speculation based on this statement?

Asked if Armstrong would take a lie detector test, Herman added: "We might do that, you never know. I don't know if we would or we wouldn't. We might."

A lot has been said about what people have said under oath, sworn affidavits ect... which had me wondering about how much a bunch of liars and cheats (in most cases, but not all) can be trusted even when under oath.... Maybe a proper lie detector test for ALL would be quite interesting, just for interest sakes....
