Establish which one is for you with a flexibility test, check out Fizik.it

The snake saddles usually suit a very aggressive race bike and setup, then on to chameleon and lastly bull saddles as your position on your bike becomes more upright with less aggressive setups/bikes.

Every LBS can get you onto a test saddle, easy steps really

I'm not really much into the whole racing scene, more just weekends rides. Not sure if that means anything. The Gobi does look for comfy ?

Hi had tundra on my anthem was ok..but when I sat on my gobi..it's heaven.. I've since sold anthem but my gobi will always stay with me. Get the Kium rails..way lighter than manganese. Gobi the best mtb saddle ever.

try the sella italia sl xc - in SA you can only get the sl xc flow (with gap in the middle of the saddle)

my girlfriend bought me the sl xc after in paris after i tested the sl xc flow which i didn't like because of the gap

I use to ride gobi but now i ride sl xc on mtb and road very affordable saddle if you buy it online and super comfy!

Hi Mic

I ride with a Gobi on all my bikes. Only changing to an über light San Marco if I'm in a racing mood ;)

As cptmayhem said though, it's a pretty personal choice. Find a Fizik dealer, as they will have test saddles, and try both the Gobi and Tundra.

If you do go Gobi get the Kium rails as the Mag rails can make the saddle noticeably heavy on the bike.

Neither for me. Gobi is uncomfortable and the Tundra offers no "sit in" so you end up moving back on the saddle. Quite a bit of sliding around on the Tundra as well.

If it has to be a recommendation between the two I'd say go for the Gobi. In my mind the Tundra can't be good for your back and knees.

I ride with a Gobi, its a great saddle I am on my 2nd one.

Dont expect any service from the local agents if anything goes wrong with it and you have a warranty claim in the event you cant produce a slip, rather go direct to Fizik on their website. They will sort any issues out faster from 10,000km away than someone in Cape Town at 1300km away.

I agree on the service, I bought a second hand one (but new) from a hubber and had no paperwork, the saddle broke, I contacted Fizik and within a couple of days a new one was on its way!

I find the saddle quite comfy but I think you do need to make sure its setup the way you need it, I found getting the level of the saddle 'seat' the most important.

Very true, I battled a bit in the beginning but now I have it perfect

I used to ride with a Gobi. Loved it like many others in this thread. Decided to try a Tundra 2 cause I was a little uncomfortable on the Gobi when doing steep climbs. Took a bit of getting used to, but now I won't change the Tundra for anything. Rode my old bike this weekend, with the Gobi on. It felt terrible. Guess it comes down to personal choice and a lot of trial and error. I have also tried Selle Royal and WTB but nothing to write home about.
