Challange to all sponsered team re Doping.

We at Chris Willemse Cycles will have a team again for 2013 and we would like to make the following challenge to Malcom Lange - owner of Team Bonita, Douglas Ryder - owner of team MTM/Qhubeka, Dean Edwards - owner team Tassol/Solar and all other team sponsors to join us with the following statement.

 

We promise that we will never ever give any rider who were caught for doping a contract in our team. Not even if his suspension is over. If the above mentioned team owners and all the other are serios about stop doping in our sport then they should support us in this statement.

 

I am also going to put it in writing to all the teams and will make it public which teams support this challenge.

 

If we can all stand together on this then we can send a message to the rest of the world that we are serious about stopping the dopers in SA.

That will mean Tassol will need to ask Nolan Hoffman to leave, Do not know if they can do this now after he was accepted back after his time was served.

So certain guys again get second chances. What makes a guy like Hoffman any more special than any other oke that has tested positive? But well done in anycase for trying at least.

If the teams do not want to take the challenge then they are the ones who will hopefully loose credibility in the eyes of the public and most probably their sponsors. I will even put this proposal to the sponsors as well.

Every type of steriod should have a penalty, from a min of 3 months to say 6months jail term. Once this is thrown in, i am pretty sure athletes would think twice. Can you imagine spending 3 months in jail in SA?

I agree. But then they should just lay the gauntlet down now and say any pro caught doping will be banned for life finish and klaar -- as simple as that. What you are trying is basically the same as what team Sky is trying.

Awesome! Maybe contact Bike Pure and see if they have a list of clean teams and get your name out there. For a team to be doing something like this, it shows that you are serious about anti-doping.

 

Not having a team to come back to after the suspension (provided all pro teams do this), essentially means dope and you dont have a job and are thus suspended for life. Well done! Wish the European pros would take a stand like this.
