2:09 on a ss !!! Don't know how these guys do it, I have only gone to and from work, either I have not found the right gearing or I just don't have the right legs!!!

Obviously most of the 8th group missed a marker. The results have nearly only A1's and A8's on the first page or so. Nic White was also on a fully rigid singlespeed for a 2:09! Amazing!

I haven't seen the results but I have an idea where the A8s went wrong. There was a section, just by the Gautrain, where you could take a big short-cut if you weren't careful. The group I was with took the short-cut by mistake, but luckily Morne realised we were wrong, so we doubled back and did the full route. I think the short-cut would have cut out about 10km.

There was a 10 hr 15 min cut-off at the 30k mark' and we were then routed onto the short route. It is rediculous that we have the times we have - but there is no way to seperate out the times. They should have DQed us at the cut-off.

It is going to be interesting to see how Racetec solve this, it was not only the A8s, but also A7, A6, A5. My wife finished 4th in her age group behind 3 A8's - one of which had an average speed faster than Carl Platt!

How frustrating, especially for the guys that were in it to win it. Bad luck Jules and well done despite it!

Wow from your times i am assamed to put my up. 4h02 for the 55km. the hills killed me.

I can't agree more, those climbs are a bitch, I hated every second of them but my tank loved the fast downhills, must be honest I actually enjoyed this more than last year, for me there were no real bottle necks that I was slowed down at by any real measure, last year was horrible but I put that down to riding the 30km last year and starting off in A6 this year. According to the times I did a 2:39 am sure that's wrong though I was out a lot longer. Did the full 55 with no shortcuts so I think race tech have a bigger problem than they think, unless its my chip?
