Saw your bikes at the finish when I was chatting to Milky and Achmat, still oogled the Spez.

Sorry about your loss, hope you get them back.

That is a stunning bike (sorry, dont mean to ad salt to your wounds)

What kind of rack were you using? Just worried that the one I have does not have sufficient security.

One of those Italian made racks almost identical to thule one, the lenabo/lenwabo project tilting, something to that effect. Bikes were clamped down on top tube, en strapped down on each wheel. Seriously should take atleast 5mins to get off. There was security patrolling who obviously wasn't around at the time. Bikes were about 500m from where we were. Inside the school ground the 2nd row closest to the food stalls.

Really really hope so too. Like a hubber says there are just some things that can be replaced, my theory hopefully theres something better waiting!

That just makes me think that you and the bikes wEre marked and they just waited for the right moment. I think it was someone that knows the value of the bikes....especially the Spez.

Exactly our thoughts. Not stolen by chance definitely someone something who what had an agenda. Bikes will probably be stripped en built over en frames sold off or ditched.

This is what worries me as well. It might be a fellow cyclist. You might have shared a laugh in the bunch

There might be a possibility these guys had cycling kit on, and they maybe even smile n waved at the security guards.....

I just can't imagine other cyclists ignoring someone removing the bikes that don't look like cyclists. If it was a common thief, surely someone would have been suspicious, but someone in kit.....no suspicion at all.

I reckon this is exactly how they steel these top end bikes without looking suspicious!
