Storm in a teacup in my opinion....

Chris' time has come - and although I don't know him personally he seems a great guy, kind and well mannered, reserved at times, and dare I say a bit of a charmer :) Although they claim he is Brit, he is a child of Africa and a home boy.

Yip yip

"I've done so much to lose weight and get fit for this, so I'm not just going to give up straight away. The experts have said it's not going to get any worse. I'm going to give it a few days and see if the pain comes down..."

Geraint Thomas, one of Froome's teammates fighting the pain barrier after a crash on Stage 1

Nice article on how far he has come

I like this description by Gareth Edwards of the Froome of 7 yrs ago:

Edwards, instead, recalls Froome as "a fluffy creature who drove to races in his wreck of a car. He had long, straggly hair and wore more bangles than a girl. Chris was fluent in Swahili and he dressed in clothing, made from hemp, in the colours of the Swahili people. He did not look like a future Tour de France winner."

Never met Edwards, just had a couple of online convos and mail exchanges with him, but he seems like a top bloke.

Porte looks more like a jockey than a cyclist...

Word is the Sky camp at this years tour is a completely different place to be than last year - far more relaxed and the guys are able to joke around etc. Last year was all business all the time. Same management - (very) different team leader.
