'Dale Posted December 17, 2012 Share One would hope that Froome would at least be free to fly in the high mountains, and leadership will be sorted out on the road. That would be awesome. Just wanna see him claim a Grand Tour win in 2013. ANY one.

So, then his options are: Screw the team and Wiggo and do a LeMond and take the TDF, or feign illness and miss the Giro and Tour and go for the Vuelta? Bonus Posted December 17, 2012 Share Mr Chris Froome was at our dealership last week, Jag SA Logo'd a vehicle for him to use for his SA stay! Great guy, very pleasant and easy to chat too! That car was at the Pre 94.7 Celebrity ride. Very nice :-)
'Dale Posted December 19, 2012 Share There's hope... From velonews: Froome, speaking to The Times on Tuesday, made it clear that he is hopeful of securing the leading role in next year’s Tour. “The team are saying they are going to back me with the Tour this year. That’s directly from (Sky’s team chief) Dave (Brailsford). He said: ‘You’re our man for the Tour. Focus on it,” Froome said.
Rocco24 Posted December 21, 2012 Share Could swear I saw the Froome in full race kit riding over Emmaretia dam this morning.
T-Bob Posted December 21, 2012 Share Don't think sky will suffer to much from the loss of Rodgers. He was a legend for sure but they've been very clever with their signings this year and have picked up some good climbers to bolster the team for this year as well as a couple of good stage / all rounders. Who ever comes out on top in the leadership role will have solid back up.
Chro Mo Posted December 21, 2012 Share I agree. Brailsford is nothing if not thorough. I anticipate a good challenge from Sky, but Condator remains the man to beat, IMO. Having said that, it's ironic, and a bit dangerous, that most if us have discounted Wiggins already. I categorically stated and believed that Wiggins would not win the Tour before it started, but he did. Maybe he can prove us all wrong, and maybe Froome can do his mountain voodoo again, and wipe them all! All things being equal, I think this tour will be much more exciting. He's training here in SA escaping the European chill, hanging out with fam & friends, I guess. You could've chased his back wheel and say howzeet :-D
kosmonooit Posted December 21, 2012 Share Was spotted in the local Mall today... didn't have time to discuss the plans for next year. Here's a recent one of him and lady celebrating "celebrating GB's sporting achievements from the last year"

No pressure!!
'Dale Posted June 12, 2013 Share The Dawg has huge ambitions: “I don’t feel like I am looking for fame or looking to be recognised for something... I’ve got my goals, and personally where I want my career to go is to target the Tour, not just this year but for the next six or seven years. I am driven by that goal, not from a fame point of view.”
