Bike hijacking on sand road parallel to Northern Farms

Can any one verify the story I heard today while riding at Modderfontain.

Sand road next to Northern Farms.

I was told a man with his wife was rinding and two locals attacked them with guns. It was his second hijacking so was carrying a firearm. He threw his bike at the criminals. They ducked and he managed to shoot both of them. The criminals fled the scene alive but shot.

I would be pleased to hear this is in fact true, as its time the criminals get justice.

Very scary and could have ended badly for them. People shouldn't be riding in that area.

That said, people shouldn't be jacked anyways. The silly season is upon us and criminals are a lot more active.

It's wild how many threads are about bike jacking, guys getting hit off bikes, bikes getting stolen It is plain depressing.Such a brilliant sport, and we getting forced to start packing guns, for sport wtf???

Was thinking the same thing, lots of bike jackings, and bikes getting stolen. And a lot of it violent.

That is a KNOWN bikejack spot...why do people still ride there. Everytime I go to northerns I see guys on that stretch, not even in groups.

lets get the matter verified first, currently is hearsay!!

NF have put out enough messages to say it is unwise and illegal to ride on the farm roads outside of NF unless you have the farmers permission, so these people were doing so at their own risk.

NF often have guards down by that stretch of road to try and keep patrons riding within NF safe, outside of NF, then you are on your own!

And yes is very scary the number of jackings and stolen bike threads are around at the moment. Just all be vigalant and careful !!
