Road: Multitool, quick link. Spare tube, patches, 3 bombs, adaptor

MTB: Multitool, quick link, spare tube, patches, 4 bombs, adaptor, tubeless plugs + accessories, oh, and 3 cable ties + a spare tubeless valve - not sure why / how it landed up in the camelbak

Depends how long the race, or how intense the terrain.

My set varies from basics - multitool, tube, quick link, tyre levers (mtb)

to hardcore (Attakwas) - all of the above plus additional tubes, 2 dozen bombs, even a rear derailer, drop-out hangers whistling.gif , leatherman multi-tool (with pliers) and lastly brake pads wacko.png

I've used all of the above atleast once, and I have learnt my lesson....

Even if you have gatorskins in a road bike? And how often have you needed it?

Yes, I have Gatorskins and have had punctures with tyres less than 200km old.

I always (race and training) carry:

  • 2 x Bombs
  • 2 x Plastic Tyre Levers
  • 1 x Tube
  • 1 x Patch Kit
  • 1 x Multi Tool

Pretty sure whatever happens, I'll be able to deal with it.

Multi-tool(with chain breaker on muddy rides), heavy duty sealant( 100ml), duct tape, cable ties, self adhesive patches. 3 x bombs, adapter, 2 x quick links. That for racing, road or MTB, all in a roll up in my pocket.

Triathlon, sealant and 2 x bombs with adapter. All taped to seat tube,

With gatorskins I average 1 puncture every two weeks. Put Vredesteins on and had one puncture in their lifetime, then put on serfas and have had only one puncture in the last two years.

I carry levers, multitool, tube, patches, 2x bombs with adapter and hand pump. All in a saddle bag.

When training, no. When in a race, maybe.

Yeah I'm talking here about puncture protection. I think it's called a gatorskin (puncture protection). Not Conti gatorskin tyres. Over here we call it a Z-liner, made by Zefal.
