Bradley Wiggins sets sights on second Tour de France title

Bradley Wiggins has suggested that Team Sky are rethinking their goals for 2013 and that he fully intends to go for a second Tour de France title next summer despite October's suggestion that Chris Froome would lead.

I pray to the Gods of Cycling that Wiggo v Froome can echo back to LeMond v Hinault, with Contador chucked in to play the wildcard.

Does it occur to anyone that Sky maybe never intended to have Froome be the GC contender at TdF, but have rather intentionally led him along all this time, just to keep him on the team for another season?

When I spoke to Chris recently I congratulated him on an excellent and very impressive TdF ride this year and asked him if he'd be able to try just a teency bit harder next year with a view to some personal glory. He said yes.

 

I think we're going to see great things from Mr Froome next year :-)
