i think it's good in the sense that hopefully Wiggo will lose his attitude when the likes of Contador, El Purrito, Hesjedal, Froome etc. crack him in the mountains.

Last year the route suited him too much and he didn't have the toughest competition. This year will be a completely different story

they had a gentlemens agreement, one helped the other first year and was repaid the next year.

Don't know about that hey.............. I somehow doubt that it is that kind of a agreement. Wiggo is to much of a self entitled ass wipe to have a gentleman's agreement like that. I also highly doubt Froome will take matters into own hands to the disadvantage of his team leader. He is too much of a ethical rider to do that (i believe) and that will also give hime a bad wrap amongst the pelaton as a "non team player"

Ask Cavendish how the madison at the Sydney Olympics went with Wiggins. Give you a better idea about how Wiggins looks out for anyone other than Wiggins

Wiggo is the poms' favourite son. They won't let a "fake" pom lead their team.

It's sad for Froome but he's still under contract for two years and while he's there he'll ride for Wiggo. Money talks.

With Froome riding in support of Wiggo Sky will once again be a force to be reckoned with. Nobody will just walk over them.

That being said, with the likes of Contador, Purito, Valverde and Schleck along with ( the very disapointing 2012 competitors) Nibali and the Evans and Tejay combo there I'm expecting a lot more action.

My money will be on Contador, but you can't write of Wiggo. He's got a strong team behind him and he still is a classy rider.

He is a good rider when there is a good support team around him. I am sorry but i do not see the "class" you are referring to

Over my head. You'll have to draw pictures for the village idiot.

Bernard Hinault and Greg Lemond won the 1985 and 1986 tours respectively. They were on the same team, La Vie Claire. Hinault promised Lemond support in 1986, provided that Lemond would ride support in 1985. Things didn't turn out quite that way.

The reality is that it takes a champion to win the Tour, and a champion's mentality is to win. No champion wants to ride support. If they are happy to ride support, they don't have the mentality to win. Two champions on one team is always a problem. It's good for neither.

Froome rode support. I'm not convinced he was happy, but he's always polite.

Recently there was Sastre/Schleck in 2008. Before Hinault/Lemond it was Hinault/Fignon, but 1985 and 1986 were dramatic. It just doesn't work.

A possible exception is close family, eg. Andy and Frank Shleck. Maybe.

He was superb as a track cyclist.

So real good class demonstrated there.

That's a helluva comment.

The no.2 ranked rider in the world, 4 olympic gold medals (7 in total), arguably the world's best time trialer at the moment, will be named a favourite to win any of the grand tour events he enters this year (no matter which one he decides to line up at the start for), an incredible pedigree in track cycling, can more than hold his own in the big climbs of le tour with the best climbers in the business... and he's not world class in your view.

I'm now very interested to know what your definition of 'class' is?

I would think it's difficult to win the TdF, no matter who's in support, without some form of CLASS!!!

BW's pedigree speaks for itself and although I want CF to be 'the man', perhaps he still needs a year or two of apprenticeship.

My view of him is not objective at all so pls take it with a pinch of salt. I do agree that he is a very good rider. For me "class" is a combo of things that not only refers to "on the bike". Your ability, how you conduct yourself off the bike in the eye of the public and your attitude towards your team. If you had to only look at the bike aspect then i think he probably is one of the best but unfortunately that for me is as close to class as he will get.

Jens has class...............
