Nice to see Chris Froome riding in the cradle this morning :-)

He slid past me in my Sky Team cycling top with a cheery "morning", and just as I was about to say to my partner "that looks like Chris" the team car slid past me and confirmed it.

I managed to catch up and rode with him long enough to say "morning Chris" and have a few words, then it was all over! LOL

I'm hoping for big things from him next year :-)

Around Jhb I just see lanky flash of activity and then he is gone - me on my heavy pavement warrior slugging along, phat chance of howzit and a chat. Although I would like to suggest he find a new team, this thing with Sir Brad is going nowhere.

He just glided past so fast I don't think he even heard us slow folk greeting! Man it was hot out there today. My friends and I rode (suffered and crawled) from Broadacres and decided next week we have got to start earlier.

It was cooking. We started from Something Country at about 7:15 but that was an hour later than we really should have done to get finished before the heat!

Rode with him for a bit, nice guy. Greeted and wished him good luck. I've seen alot of pro's there lately. On thursday i saw 6 sky team members riding with there own Jaguar following them.

It was K@k hot today. Got there at 6h30 and left at 11h00. Garmin told me it was 39 degress by 9h30!!!

I had a 42deg Max on my Polar. Ave was 36deg. Mental!

When I met him at the 94.7 pre ride, he came across as a really nice guy. I took some photo's with him and had a chat before, during and after the ride. (Possibly moving towards stalker terrirory ??)

He came past me going up Krugersdorp hill. I was in a low gear grinding up the hill, he was out the seat sprinting. Only realized who it was after the team car came past as well. It was hot in the Cradle and even worse going up the hill.

Maybe its the masochist in me but I actually enjoy the heat - did a round of Suikerbosrand yesterday at midday (and plenty of climbing there), and today out on the streets of Jhb enjoying the empty roads. And nothing like a dip in the pool when you get home!

I am sure the overseas based pros enjoy training in Jhb and surrounds over the peak of our summer 1) Its training at altitude 2) the quiet roads 3) some great routes 4) being with family and friends, and 5) spoilt for choices in terms of dining out. Anyway, thanks guys for the positive PR for Jhb.

Was hoping you'd hook up with the Froome Dawg.

Nice!

Due to holiday mode I have no idea which day it is, or was, but we saw him riding with Northcliff cycles. Opposite directions so we saw them a few times. Each time the group was smaller and smaller.

OMG! Does this elevate him to being a chop now as well? ph34r.png whistling.gif
