Bikes for Enduro... The restart

Makes no sense. A proper stem and bar would add no more than 200g - then you're at 10.5kg and it will be exponentially more fun. And safe.

Indeed. And he seemed proud that the weight had been achieved incl a dropper. Personally, I'd rather have a proper bar / stem combo and a conventional seatpost than not trust my stem & bars.

Ok so since breaking my bike 2 weeks ago I have been hunting around for another bike so that should this happen in future, I will have a spare, that is available when my son decides he wants to ride with me.

I have narrowed my choices to

Commencal sx2 2014 but only available in Hot Pink in a large, man  that colour!!! Pricing is inline with overseas markets

http://www.commencal-store.com/Files/98789/Img/01/14METASX2_800.jpg

Kona Process 153 stock only available in 2 months and I cannot get a price either or pre order one, real bummer as I am prepared to pay the 10k more for this than buy the SX1

Kona Process 167 hmmmmm, probably out of my price range but an awesome 26er

Rocky Mountain Altitude 750 Nice bike, but at R45k a bit steep I feel.  Pricing is almost double of overseas marketshttp://www.bikes.com/sites/default/files/styles/hero/public/hero/hero_altitude_799_msl.jpg?itok=AT3myeRZ

My last option is a cannondale trigger 3 but this bike is looking to be more xc related than enduro. I would not have minded a new gt force!!

Basically still trying to get prices. However I need to find the time as well to step into some stores so I can get the feel for the right size

Where can you get the process from locally? That is an awesome ride man.

Ps. I like that hot pink SX, with blacked out components it would look siiick!

Ja that colour is kinda growing on me. National cycles are the agents for Kona. Process are about 2 months out, but I dunno I can wait that long.

Kona would get my vote.

Others are either too heavy, too expensive, not enough squish

Yeah, if only I could get a price and pre order. I dont even know what models are gonne be available.

If a friend sends me one from the UK. What am I looking at in terms of transport and Duties?

you would be better off if he sent the wheels in a separate shipment or not at all so that you do not have to pay the full import duties on a whole bike.

Or rather just the h/bars, seatpost and saddle maybe as these would work out cheaper to ship vs wheels.
