I actually started narrowing my bars again, I only see the use for wide bars when riding street and need some extra leverage for bunnyhopping. 680-700mm my sweet spot

Get stuck in the bushes to much on some of the sketchy overgrown trails, haha

Bar width is always going to be personal preference, application specific and based on body type.

780mm - DH

760mm - AM

740mm - Trail/XC

My personal preference.

Agreed, my preference is 780mm for all my riding. That being said my XC riding is do e on the back of a shuttle :whistling:

My mate had 760mm on his bike, did a enduro by Pmb and planted the ground badly with them through the narrow trees,he cut his down to 710mm now, took mine from 740mm to 720mm.Wider does give you some crazy leverage.

Had a few close calls with my 750mm bars in tight sections ....gets the heart beating faster, but now have fitted a 780mm bar to the motto and am looking forward to seeing how she handles now

I have had 2 nice fast bar grab crashes with 730 mm bars - ruined two races like that and the first one did my ribs a bit. I'd still like to try some 780s sometime tho...

The only time I have had an issue with my 780mm bars was on a pedestrian bridge where the hand rails were about the same height and width as the bars. I quickly learnt how to lean the bike over while continuing to ride straight after sandwiching my fingers between the hand rail and my grips...

I've been on some really narrow trails, only hit one tree bcz v the bars. But that's also because I wasn't paying attention. So I'd blame it on myself. Never had any issues with my 777 bars, XC or AM riding.

RAther it enhanced performance, for me atleast.

With the 750mm bars I have just nicked trees or poles, but then this also happened with the old 720mm bars. .....recon one adjusts your feel on the bike to work with what you have got.

The only reason why I went 780mm was because I wanted Black bars on the motto and these popped up on the classifieds :)

Lol @ the bird sanctuary there is a bridge with banisters just like that exactly as high and wide as my bars.It has a slope running into the bridge..so its a very good for trying to clear and ive also crunched my fingers if you just slightly off.. 780mm is my happy place :P

I think we need Mr. Minns 808mm So Our Hands Sit On The Outside Of The Hand Rails :whistling:
