Ladies and Gent's

It is with a sad heart and a slight feeling of nausea, that I have to report seeing a lovely Intense on the cycle lane yesterday (This is acceptable) with very very skinny roadie slicks fitted.

This was most upsetting and lead to baiting the rider for doing so.

I thought about it afterwards, was I being a chop and realised that in fact I had gone easy on this rider.

One of the most interesting comments from this rider was that he had "taken this bike to the Alps this year".... I struggle to follow this and assume that the "Alps" is a Swiss or Italian coffee shop that serves instant coffee and Koolaid.

Tsk Tsk Tsk

Judge not lest ye be judged.

That bike has indeed done a trip to the Actual Alps. (not a Seapoint Coffee Shop) I also have it on very good authority that that same rider and bike combo covered 102km, 14.4km vertical and 5 Bikeparks in 2 countries in a single day during said trip to the Alps (A European Mountain Range)

So the way I see it that particular bike has enough cred to run pink streamers from the handlebars.

The videos below are all from that 102/14.4 km day in the Alps.

Not acceptable. If you can afford an Intense, you can afford a cheap SS commuter. Will save money on suspension servicing...

Haha. There's a setting to speed up the video in the editing software I use. I make liberal use of that.

Jees. Just watched those vids again now. I WANNA GO BAAAACK!

I don't understand how there is an entire video of you riding on a tar road in the Alps?

Did you fit slicks for that?

It's the road down into Lindarets. (between Morzine and Chatel) Wanted to show the roadies how sick the roads are there too.

Also. Once again I find myself having to dispense a history lesson to you bunch of heathens. That "tar road" is the Cole de la du Vuerte. It's featured in the TDF and Dauphine on numerous occasions. That's hallowed ground. You boys need to learn some respect.

I need some assistance from you guys/girls, Ive been riding exclusivly hardtail SS for a number of years now and recently acquired a 2010 Trance X (Unfortunately the X3).

A few questions:

Anything i can do to the stock Giant Rear shock to make it feel better, i had an anthem years ago with an RP23 and this feels nothing like that.

It has a Tora coil Fork, i have no idea how to set up a coil fork only ever had Air before this, any tips?

My suggestion: Look for a suitable size replacement shock  - eg an RP2 or 23. The fork should go too. A 120mm Reba or Fox 32 120 or 140 would work well on that bike and be much lighter.
