Haven't been following your other thread in detail so if you don't mind me asking: how did you end up going for the Nomad? As far as I remember you mentioned early on in the thread that you don't believe the geo will be suited to our trails.

Honest question. Asking for a friend. In no way because I'm battling my monsters not to buy one myself.

Very True - I did say that the Geometry is too aggressive for our trails.

65 deg is Downhill headangle material ... I mean - my Fury had a 65 deg headangle! ...

I am pretty sure I am going to k@k off on the climbs ... but I just thought to myself ... "what the hell" the colour is rad ... and I cant get hold of Gabe at Devinci for a Spartan ... so just go for the Nomad.

In all honesty I should have probably gone for the Bronson with the steeper geo - but what the hell ... I am sure this bike is gonna be awesome - Especially for the way I ride ....

Good enough for me!

From the research I've done it looks like a Pike with greater off set (ala Giant Reign) is possible. Should go some way to counter the head angle on climbs.

Have however only read good things about the Nomad.

ya exactly - the Nomad is a beast ... So if not why not ... Im not going to go and try and win races on it ... so I thought just get what will be the most fun .... and in my opinion a DH bike that can climb hills and weighs 12kg ... thats FUN!!!

Anybody have an old rear shock kicking about, maybe needs a service or recon or something for my 26" trance x?

Or much rather:

http://www.pinkbike.com/news/ibis-741-carbon-wheels-review-2014.html

Pinkbike's take: "There's no doubt about it, the 741s have convinced us of the benefits of ultra-wide rims. They allow the tire to provide more traction, make for a more forgiving ride, and also proved to be a much more reliable setup when running low tire pressure. This last point was shown to be true when one large rider able to run at least 10 PSI less than his usual pressure, and the other more average sized tester preferring about 5 PSI less, both with out any burping. The 741 wheelset isn't exactly inexpensive, but at $1,299 USD it does cost less than many other carbon wheelsets on the market that feature standard width rims.

For this reason, and because of the benefits talked about above, we'd be far more likely to purchase a set of 741s before any of those other options."

Now, see - if you'd listened to me in the first place...

Denial is an ugly, ugly thing. What ever you do just don't tell him, "I told you so!"

What eye2eye length and stroke do you require? I have an extra Fox Rp23 for my Intense.
