Excuse me, but wasn'd Bradley wiggins a track cyclist of note before he "changed" into a GC contender? Took him 2 years, but he did it. Edit: Oops, sorry, i see this was discussed. Wiggo was a useless climber when he first started in the Grand Tours. Sprinting is not a requirement to be a GC contender. Climbing and TT'ing are the requirements.
