SwissVan Posted July 25, 2013 Share Awesome, Gnarly! So, how fast is that peloton in real life on the Champs Elysees? What I've found really impressive is the speed the team cars drive to keep up on some of the roads, especially these tight twisty euro roads with all the street furniture, all of this while often driving with one hand on the wheel, a load of bikes on the roof, arm and sometimes head out the window , one eye watching the TV (in the car) and listening to the race radio..... r0adrunner
Gnarly Posted July 25, 2013 Share Awesome, Gnarly! So, how fast is that peloton in real life on the Champs Elysees? Mind Blowing...... What an AWESOME experience. Even more impressive is the speed they come up Mont Ventoux and Alpe D'Huez. Don't tell anyone but I accidently hooked my flag on a bike on top of one of the team cars at top of Alpe D'Huez. r0adrunner

And the speed of the caravan before the race comes through throwing the freebies out.
SwissVan Posted July 25, 2013 Share And the speed of the caravan before the race comes through throwing the freebies out. That must be one of the kakkest jobs on the tour, driving one of those mobile show stands and having to deal with all the fans demanding something every day for 3 weeks... Bonus Posted July 26, 2013 Share The Peloton on the Champs is fast, but even faster is any poor guy that had a mechanical and is trying to catch up - 2 inches behind any team car that will have him! Awesome! My fav quote of the last stage was from Cav - "I was pushing 1500 watts and usually when I do that I win by a few bike lengths" Froomes speech was cool. Looking forward to seeing him in November :-)
'Dale Posted July 28, 2013 Share “I would have loved to have been there and would have found it very difficult to watch. I’ve just been trying to focus on positives, really, rather than sitting depressed in front of the TV. I only watched the first stage, as I heard the bus had knocked the finish line down. I followed it from afar but it was too painful to watch.” Wiggins, TdF yellow jersey winner 2012 Bonus

T-Bob Posted July 28, 2013 Share and wondering whether I was really the best last year.... Wow, I thought we'd all got over that one. Wiggins results last years were great, I'm fairly sure he's not wondering what could of been.
Butch Cassidy Posted July 29, 2013 Share When will we start hearing about the doping. Who will make confessions after retiring that they doped. Was way to good to be true.

Jaco-fiets Posted July 29, 2013 Share Really sad! Think they really pushed it to stay in the game for this year already. The Spanish economy is suffering and we might see more Spanish sponsored teams loosing pulling out in the next year or 2. Movistar comes to mind
