If I were the BMC team boss I would fire the whole lot and build a completely new team. The Movistar team seems to also have good leadership. They were sensible enough to leave Quintana where he was when Valverde had a problem in that windy stage knowing that he had a good chance in stead of asking him to fall back to help Valverde. If he did fall back I don't see how he would have got a podium spot.

Watched the replay just now. Awesome to see the podium speech. Loved how Froome high-fived those kids!

Just watching the highlights now - missed it last night - who was the rider who abandoned on the last day? That must suck.

In regard to find talent.

That is where Sky did well ,in particular with Froome.

I know a couple of clowns are touting the doping train and throwing first class tickets his way, but he is a raw discovered talent.

He was brought in to the British development academy after they saw some of his results, after some tests and some time spent not being a superstar, Froome and Sky worked hard at getting him to the max of his ability.

They seem to have achieved succes.

Winners and heroes aren't born overnight.

I always say, it starts with what your mamma and pappa gave you ,from there the scientific approach with a big heart and a huge hunger is the only way yo success.

Whilst I do believe that Sky's program and training is what has polished him into the world beater he is, they did almost let him go to Garmin before the 2011 Vuelta.

How much of a part do you think Team Barloworld played? If they never sponsored the team and got the wildcard TdF entries, I don't think he would have got into Sky's radar. I think Barlowworld should indirectly get some of the credit for this.

BMC need to decide what they want to do.

GC? Classics? Both?

If both is the answer, then a genuine GC contender needs to be acquired.

I would get Rigoberto Uran, Rafael Majka and Kwiatkowski, and cut loose Hushovd and Ballan for a start.

Build the Classics team around Gilbert, and commit resources to ensuring he is supported.

The peleton must realise that once Froome is finished Sky's domination is by no means over - Joe Dombrowski will step up -you can't buy his talent for any money. The guy will be a superstar.

Cadel Evans will not win another GC again, ever. Sean Kelly stated that he was in the autumn of his career and had been there for a while.

With the sort of budget they have, they cannot do anything but follow the Sky model, or develop their own, unique model to ensure success.

I just hope that the Phonak lesson has been learned.

The sad part is he's podium at the Giro is probably their best result so far this year...loads of big names on that team getting no results at all.

Also not so sure that TJ is the way to go but he will get better...but a Grand tour winner I don't know.

They need fresh blood and lots of it...stop buying riders based on the past years results and start building a team of young guys that can win classics and tours.

Imagine Vaughters at Garmin with a budget like that!

(Ahem....cough ,cough............)We at BMC management take note and appreciate all comments. However if you would rephrase..............

Who will topple Team Sky?

Gonna be interesting to see how teams rally to gain on the British Empire.

“He didn’t have the best equipment. I watched his time trial; this was a guy from nowhere, he did this phenomenal performance... I was like, ‘bloody hell, who is this guy?’ That was the first time I ever saw him.”

Brailsford of his first glimpse of Froome during the elite men’s time trial in Melbourne, Australia.
