Entered 70km SS.

Last year's race was my first 70 ever and I cramped from 40 to the end in over 4 hours, in that stupid wind.

The race got the better of me last year, not so in 2013. Bring it ON. This time, it's personal.

Never done it before . What ratio for you on SS ? Will 34/16 be fine ?

Last year I was not that fit and almost died. I was running 32x17 on a rigid 26er. Now I am on a 29er and will be running 32x18 or 16.....yet to decide.

I am going as well but I will only be doing the 40 this time around. Done to much LSD and I need to work on my race pace so the 40 should work well for HIT

So still pretty new at these races, but I see on the 40km, for #1 guys are doing it in 1h30, If I'm working that out right its 26km/h average which is very quick for mtb, or is that pretty standard and the terrain isn't that technical? What would be a good average?

I did Hazeldean last month on a 22km/h average. Wasn't expecting it, but sounds like the terrain will be similar at Cullinan. So hoping to break the sub 2 this time around. Can't wait.

The plan is to sleep over in Cullinan. Do the beer "tasting" thing proper.

Ok, so can aim for a better average than the magalies monster at least, In that case I would be happy with anything close to 2 hours

I Know this is fairly flat, but does anyone have or know where to find a route profile for the 70km
