Hi have just gone and entered. I have done 2 S2c and the Lowveld Quest. I have always read that S2c and B&B are the best stage races. What are your thoughts and what should i expect?

Upgraded tents? Where do i find them, that sounds great! Not too worried about Spionkop, i rode everything on S2c and i like hills!

I was just looking at the information on the Burg & Bush site and see the Decent now ends in Emseni not Winterton??

Also see Garry's tweet commenting on new singetrack from last year?

B+B is brilliant...get yourself one of the upgraded tents if you can..worth every cent. dont worry about spionkop..its a doddle ha ha

For a oke who sounds so organized , you always seem to be looking for last min race entries

It broke me, i was seriaasly running low on sense of humour. Sean and jcza got the brunt of it.....I remember saying to Sean... "you said the previous climb was the last one, where did you learn to count..."

Bad or Good news??? We still do Puff Adder Pass.

I can fully understand their reason for changing the route. Last year the Great Trek had to finish on the road because we couldn't get across the river.

Distance : 68km

A climb up to Bullers Cross and Wesley’s way early in the day allows great views of the Drakensberg before an exciting descent down Big Red. We go up Mikes Pass through thick African Bushveld. After following many kilometers of single track along the crest of Naval Gun hill we rattle down Puff Adder pass and swoop down Mazambaan. This time we cross Schietsdrift in reverse over the bridge and make our way back to Emseni via Earls camp and the Steel Bridge.

B&B is better than Sani if you like technical riding! It really is an amazing ride and the water tables are WAY better than Sani. There is a competition for the best so they go all out. We even got Jacobs coffee on the last water point on day 1 (we had a tough day with mechanicals and riding in a strong head wind were seriuosly losing our sense of humour. It just made our day).

I love technical riding so that sounds great. I have to say that i'm looking forward to it, we are really spoilt for choice.

What is also so wonderful is how the community get stuck in to host and serve.

I was saddened by a lot of the riders on the Sani2c race this year and the attitude that they seem to be bringing to the event, attitude and self-centeredness and i hope that people don't bring that to this event. It's perhaps a danger in any sport when it becomes so popular.

Unfortunately u will get those people on every race. We had a girl who refused to let us passed on the descent from Spionkop and gave attitude when we asked nicely.

I found B&B easier than Sani - no Day 2 extravagance. A lot more single track, but also a lot less variety.

Both are great races.

Any opportunity one has to ride around the berg on a bike whilst having food thrown at you needs to be grasped with both hands.

What Mike said - those bigger tents are great.

The water points are the best of any event.

There was another climb we did but due to the mud last year we all walked up - think it was called Mikes pass?
