So to everyone who offered great advice re Faerie Garden (FG). Today I went and did FG at least 8 times up and down conintuously until I couldnt see if I was on the up or the down of the track. Yes I fell at least 6 times, but at the end, i'd accomplished completing the whole track (with out bridge section) without falling off. As for the bridge, I did ride it but with one foot down and the only other part of the course I really couldnt do was the drop going into the bridge.

other wise, I feel very proud of myself and will continue to make FG part of every ride up Tokai Forest.

thanks again for all the advice and support!!! It works :)

Have a great long weekend everyone :)

Did the same with the youngster today and we will be back tomorrow.

We added a bit of 'My roots' (may have been your roots) that runs alongside the jeep track.

Still one or two little sticky sections but you can see the confidence growing on every pass through the singletrack.

The youngster is improving too...

That is indeed Your Roots. The flowy one with the little plank bridge over the stream

Looked like saturated ground combined with wind.

Also, what you were seeing lying over the trail was only the tips of the branches. Have a look behind the trail and you'll see just how big the tree is, really, do it, it really is something to behold.. I wish I had a phone, I would have taken pictures but to say it looked like a fallen elephant would have been an understatement and grossly unjust!

PS, It actually does look like an elephant, just a very, very big one!
