Dirtbreath Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Why is it that most people change their ss gearing by switching sprockets? I find good quality sprockets hard to come by whereas chainrings more common and actually cheaper. Is the chainlength affrected more by varying the chainring size?

Firemeister Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 What gear ratios do most of you use? I run a 32 chainring front, and vary the sprocket 16 or 18. With 16 i find some climbing just too tough, but with the 18 again the climbing is fine but then i spin out on a flat road. .

Depends on the route, as well as your strength. Most common i have come across in my own personal market research ( asking peeps what they using) is 32 18 Firemeister 1
