So entries are open for the race on women's day! Just entered... Will be my first road race!

Anyone else doing this?

What am I to expect/be on the lookout for?

Another Championchip event. don't bother, your time is not valid to seed you on any future events, and they will sting you for an online entry fee as well as an admin fee over and above the normal entry fee. On principle i'll keep my money and they can keep their race, I suggest everyone else does the same

A good race. It's flat, so expect it to be fast. The hard bit is keeping with the bunch at the two climbs: one just before the turnaround and the other at the turnaround point. So kill yourself to stay in there. The long drags back are ok, but gutter winds can make it difficult.

And don't get hung up on the cc thing. They just do entries and timing. The charity is a good cause.

Already covered in another thread. Is it perhaps possible for you to build a bridge and get over this Championchip thing.

You sure you don't want me to cry you a river before i build a bridge to get over it. or would like to join all the other riders who moan and whine about entry fees and then sit back and do nothing, because they all sitting in a corner waiting for you.

ooops sorry, only saw your avatar now, which explains!!!

No need to be a tjop.

If you want to moan about cc go to the official cc griping thread. If you want to provide some useful information on a race that is held for a good cause, then do so here...

Entries close on 1 August. Numbers can be collected and late entries will be taken at Linden Cycles, Johannesburg on 6 August and at Bruce Reynecke Cycles Pretoria on 7 August. There is an extra cost for late entries, as I have to do manual capturing of your entries. Please enter online to avoid more complaining ang griping about costs.

Thanks for those of you that are supporting Hospice by riding this event, all proceeds goes to Hospice.
