Try ryan butterworth he does bike setups and has the advantage of being a physiotherapist! Went to him as I had a problem with the ulnar nerve in my left hand, 2 rides since and I'm cured...I hope (riding with no discomfort).

Highly recommend..

I'm due another bike fit and was thinking either Cycle Fit or Active Worx Retul fit. Retul is nearly double the price of Cycle fit so I'm thinking of going with the former.

I've used Concept Cyclery's BG Fit before and I wasn't overly impressed at all.

I used Cycle Fit nearly 2 months ago,

the difference has been great and am starting to gain a fair amount of speed and power now that my body has adjusted to the different setup.

They are very helpful, reasonably priced and don't force anything on you.

So instead of starting a new comment, I thought I'd also weigh in here regarding Cycle Fit.

In the past I've had various fitments performed by LBS as well as Concept Cyclery's BG fit.

Yesterday I went to Cycle Fit for the first time and was extremely impressed by not only the fitment and subsequent feel of the bike but also the knowledge and expertise of Richard (who did my fitment) as well as the friendliness of all of the staff including owner Arran Brown.

I'd rate this as a far superior fitment to the BG fit and recommend it to anyone.

Do they use Ergofit?

Dear All,

I recently went for my first professional setup at Cycle Fit and I cannot emphasise the importance of having it done properly. I am honestly of the view that a correct setup will increase your cycling ability by 30%.

Please pass on the good words. I wish they offered bike servicing too.

If it increased your cycling ability by 30% then why were you so slow on Saturday?????

I don't think it is Ergo fit (as far as I understand what Ergofit is).

They seem to base fitment on body proportions / flexibility and adjust according to the bodies movements at key points such as shoes/knees with camera views.

Spook Groenewald, Daisyway Coaching, Somerset-West. I cannot recommend him highly enough, if you are looking for a bike set up in Cape town area. He does a stroke pedal assessment as well. His wife is Erica Green.

Great to read positive reports about cyclefit, got my fitting in an hour... New to the sport of mtb and battling with right leg pain after a hard ride, looking forward to getting the bike set up 100% and that 30% increase in performance

Pedal stroke assessment is something I'd actually like to do.

Sports Science Institute in Newlands. Dr Jeroen Swarts, I think it is.

But my physio also pointed out a few things: straighten my back, take the weight off my arms. Also made a huge difference.

Does epic cycles also not offer a similar thing ?

Contacted Arran today about his recommendations on a frame size for a new MTB I'm looking at. Not only did he reply to my email quickly, he offered to see me this evening to tough a few measurements free of charge.

This is what I call a professionally run opperation with a great customer orientation. Definitely going to them for a proper fitment ones I've purchased the new toy.
