On the Giants Castle event they give you a fleece, having bailed halfway through the ride, i gave the thing to no.1 son.

It was a hardcore event i didnt want folk coming up to me at other places to talk about it.

Still wear a 70s-style Liverpool shirt regularly, but didnt play for them.........that often.

I've done it, therefore I will buy the kit. waited till now for it to go on special  so i ordered and paid yesterday.

If I haven't done the race I won't wear the kit, think it should be a unwritten rule between cyclists.

If I saw some fat slob in some amabubesi kit that I knew wouldn't make the 1st month of training let alone a stage but managed to browse the catalog while passing through the Craft Stall on his way to the St Elmo's Sliceaway I would kick him down the mountain then ride down and kick him back up :cursing:

but if they gave you the call you'd be there, ready to run on. That's allowed. ;)

No problem with that, but has he earned Amabubesi kit ?

But should it be OK for him to wear the Amaboepensie kit if he hasn't already done and finished 3 prior to that? Me thinks not .....

Edited - Boris beat me to it ...

Nope, definitely not, but he wont even ride in the rider kit cause he feels he didn't finish it.

Probably the same reason my mate wont wear his Epic kit, probably does not want anyone to ask about it.

Hectic what a cycle race can do to people.

And your feelings about a guy wearing a Springbok Jersey ?

Nobody wearing an Epic Kit is supporting anyone. Its a show of achievement, like national stripes.

I see your point but merchandising for a team sport is a different thing. I still feel the players should receive a unique version.

What if I bought a Green Jacket to support Tyger Woods and started wearing it to the Golf course...?
