Yes and the Interweb is overflowing with 'opinions' on this subject, but mostly speculative, uninformed, unwarranted, undermining and denigrating in terms of Chris, who a few people know here personally. That is one reason they are being defensive, myself included although I do not know Chris personally but have been following him (literally, on Twitter) for the past few years. He flew past me up a hill here once if that counts.

There is absolutely no evidence (circumstantial or otherwise) to support these insinuations. Sky is the cleanest team in the sport, period. Chris is a 1st class guy, well mannered, reserved, and honest as the length of a midsummer day on the North Pole.

I understand some of you have had a serious blow to your egos and self-belief for the years of adoring LA, and then he turns out to be a fraud and a psychopathic liair (as Michelle kindly put it), but as The Boss once said, "Blind faith in your leaders will get you killed"

Edit: typos

.

I know Chris personally, helped him with that first mountain bike of his and we have been friends ever since.

He is certainly a great respectful individual, also has fantastic ethics, wouldn't even have coffee at one stage of his life as he felt the caffeine was not good for him.(some will add that it means nothing)

He has had a fantastic upbringing and shows respect to every person he comes in to contact with.

I will never forget how bad he felt when he was stopped on the N1 with his bicycle, to me he is an ethical guy who thrives on honesty and especially honesty within himself.

Saying all that, my reason for not accepting all the doping talk is not because I have an emotional link to it all.

I get really annoyed and you put it very well when people denigrate others purely for the sake of doing so ,and all of this without any fact, speculation must be one of the 7 evils of the modern world.

I am a firm believer in he principle "benefit of doubt"

I believe you took something to ease the pain though?

And WADA is so strict it's like you basically have to do it on Panado.

I'll be totally honest with you, from history I am in doubts that anyone in the tour is riding clean according to the WADA list. I'd love to believe otherwise but I truly am battling.

I believe Chris has absolute pure awesome talent and deserved the win, he rode and acted like a true champion. I believe Quintana is a man to watch next year now that he has learnt from his mistakes.

I don't think I can support anyone until I see and know there has been a change.

Okay, aim, shoot, fire!!

What do you want to see and know ?

I think I've just been hurt one too many times. I know we are supposed to always forgive but it's human nature that once burnt twice shy.

I used to get excited when a rider performed well and have support for certain guys whom I loved and would shout for and get excited over. But time and time again each one has now been stripped and shamed.

I just don't have the same excitement for the sport anymore purely because of it's long tainted history. The doping has stripped the joy of the sport for me. Which is actually very very sad and I'm sure many feel the same way.

Ja anyone who says "aim, shoot, fire" is either confused... or just a woman :whistling:

Swiss - let me get you in my sights... aim, shoot, fire

The you should not be watching any sport that requires excessive exertion , it's not just cycling.

It's also no like doping only started with the Armstrong era, it's been around since the turn of the century, not just to win, but simply to be able to finish what appeared impossible to do , especially considering the bikes that were used in the day.

Froome is the new era, the new talent of the clean riders.

Ridden in the 1920 tour of Germany.

I really hope so.

That's why I said years, it's been there like forever.

I've always raced on nothing, I even hate most of the USN products etc and yet I'm sure I'm not alone in how I feel.

It was an exciting awesome tour to watch but for me these days it is tainted.

I hope above all hopes it is on the road to recovery and I hope that Chris is the start of the new clean generation, will be a good change.
