haters will hate! why not give it a spin then decide?

That is fair, would give it a spin.

My grudge is against the blatant advertorial type post without giving more feedback as per my questions in bold and DIP's CASE font

because it's got a very narrow niche. I see no way that it would be able to replicate a proper fork when it comes to rebound and compression damping, or being able to be tuned to different conditions & fork travel speeds.

Gravel road, yes. Anything more - no.

I have been riding with that fork for almost a year now, i love it , I have ridden serious trails with it , it take some getting used to but i love it

#NOTENDURO

I like forks that I can fiddle with, I like turning dials and feeling the sweet subtle clicks of adjustments.

Nonetheless, I admire the innovation. Very cool concept.

I think you just answered a question I've been asking myself for a long time riding rigid forks on all my bikes, thank you! Although I wouldn't mind a high end bike or two if i had the cash.

#NOTRACESNAKE I'm more of a belly bouncing beer drinking back marker amaboepensie type of rider.

I hate fiddling with anything on my bikes, I hardly wash them. I want it as simple as possible, to take me from A to B and just ride with the least amount of complications although it can be rough and tiring on gnarly terrain. The new highly advanced technologies does help allot to edge ahead of the old basic components in many ways. Affordability, serviceability....Mr simplicity, that's me! Good thing we are all different with plenty choices and options out there to satisfy all of our preferences.

I have seen one on the flesh and I'd love to try one out on Karoo2coast or Hell and back. It would absorb the thousands of smaĺl hits that make riding them on a rigid so soul destroying.

If only they would change their marketing Strategy and sponsor a rider rather that post badly disguised advetorials,we could be in business

I'd like to understand something here.

1. So this was the opening post

Anyone seen these? They look some piece of genius engineering.

5 year warranty imo no fork service for 5years.

Take a look http://www.laufforks.com

Apologies for the great link. Posting off my phone.

2. To which Hairy replied (no edits)

Pogo sticks, no rebound adjustment or sag just to start with.

There have been not so glamorous reviews of it

What are your intentions for the fork?

Gravel and light trail use?

Hairy

Who pissed you off my friend

I will answer your questions tonight because I can see its going to take long

Your opinion may be different from mine but you ARE not going to call me a lier

All facts that I stated is true ie who the other testers was, most of what I wrote were also their findings

I have no intention to advertize this for personal benifit or finantial benifit.

Have you tested these forks yourself? I dont think so

Maybe the guys selling these made you mad and now you want to get back at them?

Devil: How did you get from Hairy's reply to "Who pissed you off my friend" and "you ARE not going to call me a lier" ?

Seems like a reply from the twilight zone? I agree that one should give it a go before making sweeping statements (which I don't think Hairy did) , but keep in mind that some people would not need to ride it to know it won't work for them.

Also, it's great to hear your take on it, but we have no reference. Where was it tested, where do you ride, what do you ride...without knowing that there's no merit (at this stage) for your opinion.

It happens often enough that someone upgrades from his entry to mid level bike to something higher up the ranks and then declares that bike the best bike ever. In order to make a sweeping statement like that there needs to reference.

And then, when you still think a product is the beez kneez riders will want to know "compared to what" and then where did you ride and how do you ride?

Better than a SID? Maybe for you, but it sure as hell won't be for me. But I can take a step back and see the value of a product for it's intended market and use - but I won't go around saying it's the best ever.

It's cool and all that you like it and that it works for you, but there's no reason to come out guns blazing and attack someone for asking a question or two. I'm sure if you responded with answers to his questions this thread would have gone down a different route.

I gave one of these forks a fondling on Monday - nice looking piece of work and super light - does it work - no idea, but it looks like a bit of star wars kit...

Who pissed you off my friend I AM IN MY HAPPY PLACE AND CERTAINLY NOT "PISSED OFF" .... WELL NOT YET.

I will answer your questions tonight because I can see its going to take long THANK YOU

Your opinion may be different from mine but you ARE not going to call me a lier  I AM NOT CALLING YOU A LIAR, I AM QUESTIONING YOUR BROAD AND SWEEPING STATEMENTS ABOUT THIS FORK BEING THE BEST FOR ON ST, BERMS AND THE OTHER GOOD THINGS YOU MENTIONED.

All facts that I stated is true ie who the other testers was, most of what I wrote were also their findings SEE MY QUESTIONS POSED TO YOU THERE AGAIN

I have no intention to advertize this for personal benifit or finantial benifit. THAT IS JUST HOW THE POST CAME ACROSS. IF YOU REALLY ARE NOT AFFILIATED THEN I TAKE THAT BACK ... BUT YOU ARE DOING SOME SERIOUS HARD SELLING THERE :P

Have you tested these forks yourself? I dont think so NO, HAVE YOU TESTED ALL THE TOP END TRADITIONAL FORKS, I DON'T THINK SO? I DID LOOK INTO IT MANY YEARS AGO WHEN THEY FIRST INTRODUCED THE PRODUCT AND IT WAS CLEAR THAT NOT BEING ABLE TO FINE TUNE THE PRELOAD AND DAMPING CHARACTERISTICS WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO OFFER ME A FORK I AM LOOKING FOR. I HAVE BEEN IN THE MTB GAME FOR MANY YEARS, BACK TO WHEN ELASTOMER FORKS WERE CONSIDERED TO BE "GOOD" AND SOME OTHER CRAZY AND "REVOLUTIONARY" FORKS CAME OUT ONTO THE MARKET...ALSO RIDDEN MY FAIR SHARE OF XC TO TRAIL FORKS.

Maybe the guys selling these made you mad and now you want to get back at them? GREAT CONSPIRACY THEORY THAT WOULD CERTAINLY SET THE INTERNET ABLAZE WITH COUNTER THEORIES AND MORE THAN LIKELY ACTUALLY BREAK THE INTERNET DUE TO THE AWESOME AMOUNT OF TRAFFIC IT WOULD CREATE. NOT TO SPOIL A GREAT STORY, BUT I HAVE NO IDEA WHO THEY ARE OR HAVE EVER KNOWINGLY MET THEM.

Hold on cowboy!

I am only picking up on this now, please see above in RED and BOLD

People people - its a 60mm "light technical" fork. Dirt roadie use, single track etc. It eats up rutted road, small bumps and rumbley stuff better than any other fork out there - it isn't designed to be the "one fork to rule them all".

Much like 26 650B 29 debate the fork has its place. Enduro and DH are not its place.

Edit: I'm also not sure it'll work well on duallie frames. 60mm front with 100mm rear is not going to handle well. My opinion is: hardtail bike for fast light technical racing.

Crater cruise, sani2c, joberg2c, cape epic, 36One that kinda of stuff.
