SURFER Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 You made a good decision. The last 20km's was into a horrible head wind. A year later I still remember the pain, and then we missed the cut-off by +- 15 minutes or so :-( It really is a beautiful ride and this year I will be back and I WILL make the cut-off. I took longer to do this race then K2C, but I think that was mostly due to the wind. Climbing isn't bad, lots of little rolling hills in the 2nd half. How long to you take for K2C. Will be my first one. My K2C was 4h38 in 2011. What time should I expect if my fiitness is the same?

That long downhill was tough on the hardtail. Unfortunately its the only mtb I own now so I'll be riding it again this year. Are you doing it this year ?

flymango Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 The cut off this year will be 8 hours. That will make a big difference. And the fact that it's on a Saturday. Should be a nice "gees" at the finish, as people won't be rushing home so soon.
