Only Johan Bruyneel can get a 42 year old riding like that!

Looks good but smells bad.

More than a little suspicious

If ever a victory post LA is smelly, then it is this one. I got the feeling today Horner didn't even give 100%

Geeez that Angliru was hectic!

Awesome crazy spectating.

Too easy for Horner.

So much wanted Nibs to claim a 2nd GT this year :-(

“I didn’t have great legs... Angliru, it’s mythic … it’s one of the hardest climbs in the mountains. To win there, it’s the happiest day of my life.”

Horner went faster than Contador on the Angliru today:

2013:12,8 km@9,6%---43:06---average speed 17.82 km/h(Chris Horner)

2008:12,8 km@9,6%---43:12---average speed 17.78 km/h(Alberto Contador)

Conto broke away earlier and went full gas, Horner would outclimb the doped Contador in his prime.

Fastest ever, was:

2000:12,8 km@9,6%---41:55---average speed 18.32 km/h(Roberto Heras)

(Im not sure that Herras' records still count)

Spanish TV had listed the gearing the GC men are using today on the L’Angliru: Chris Horner 34×32, Vincenco Nibali 34×29, Alejandro Valverde 36×29, Joaquim Rodriguez 36×28 and Nico Roche 36×32.

I cant believe oupa is actually going to win the Vuelta.

Its very good news for the whole trek etc franchise going into next season they might even get an additional sponsor with trek or Radioshack would want to extend?

Awesome stage none the less.

Horner winning should not be such a suprise:

1. Due to his dismal season / injury so far he is fresher than all the other contendors.

2. He is well known for being an excelent climber on these type of steep climbs and has produced similar power outputs (6.7 w/kg) in the past.

3. The Italian Gazzette reporting Horners out put as 6.8w/kg are apparently a bit exagerated and incorrect if you believe Dr Ferrari.

4. Contador was not riding this year, comparing times he rode a few years ago is not equal, were the conditions (wind, road surface, temprature, drafting of riders) the same then as they were today?

Glass half full or half empty?

Enjoy the race

Chris won that one fair & square, good on him!

Sorry Vincenzo didn't get it, and he certainly tried yesterday, but the better man won.

Amazing tour, I have been watching Eurosport once again. Tad less boring that the monotonous Mat..
