Is there anybody that can may be give me a lift from DBN to near or close to WInkelspruit after the race? Just in case the baby is not playing along and my wife struggles.

Last year I did a 2:44 but dropped my chain near the bottom of the first hill and had to chase hard. Think I managed to get back to the second group of A. The winning time for A was 2:39.

Garyvdm, what did you do 94.7 in last year. If I remember correctly the trend I sort of found was that Shova times were in the region of about +-10 minutes more than 94.7 times.

I'm looking at a 2:45 weather permitting !

Hey Zatek,

I would have been more than willing to offer to help you out, however i think my car might be a bit crowded with spectators (family) driving with. To be more specific, we're in Seadoone/Warner Beach area which is right where you will be, so it would not have been an issue at all.

PM me your number anyway, and we can maybe make a plan

So is it fair to say it is better to ride with my 88mm sections?

Up to you. I have seen that in the past. But don't forget the climbs. Although your deeps will be nice on the downhill sections.

You know of course deep sections doesn't make that much of a difference as you might be led to believe?

Well for me they do. Just remember that you have to go faster than 30km/hour for them to take effect  ....

I have been experimenting with normal wheels, 50mm and 88mm and even a disk in the last few weeks.

If its flat and or downhill the more carbon definitely helps...

If you can still be in the group at the end of the first climb with deep wheels you are set for a good run in I am sure...

Did he loose something and now he's a 248 ???

Ok then I'll be riding alone.
