the one you get on every 10speed mtb sold these days? or must i tell you the tooth shape and groove width?

I would class both a 11-34 and 11-36 as 'normal'. Was interested to know which one you were referring to. Didn't mean to catch you on the crimson tide pal.

Thanx Flowta

I had a look on the evobikes site.

Its not cheap, but will give me a much better range of gears. 1 by 10 seems like an attractive option using the general lee conversion.

My solution will be cheaper, heavier and maybe not as neat.

I will post when it's done. Waiting on a delivery

Nice. You most certainly make it so much fun for the rest of us to chat here.

fair question yes but for a first post in a thread really?

Was a genuine interest. I'll check with you before I post further questions. I just feel terrible that I couldn't do it for my previous 1835 posts...

one by ten or eleven works great on xco or enduro but not for stage races. agree with copperhead and singlespeedGuy.

must say the weight is a massive saving!

Hey man, I'm not picking on you like the other guys are but why doesn't it work for stage races?

If you are fit enough and have the legs then anything is good enough for stage races, surely? You can change the chain ring size if its a flat stage or such and such.. That's the beauty of its simplicity.

Hell, even one of my rigid single speeds has managed a top 100 and sometimes a top 50 place in a few stage races........

I'm really not stirring, just trying to understand why it wouldn't work.

um there full time job is to ride all day for a living, I should hope so..

Don't reckon many mere recreational mortals would manage a 1x10 on Epic ?

You are right there.

Sometimes you wish for a easier ratio than a 24 chainring and a 11-36 cassette.
