Lone Rider,

We call him the "Goat", I mean we all ride with our numbers up side down, but he rides BL because he doesn't race anymore, he only ride for fun these days and he prefers long climbs than wind. He doesn't train that much either but usually ride loops in the cradle with us 53-11, no jokes, slowly but he does it. Years back he was riding with VA or A (Can't recall) in the Argus, and he had his iPod on and crashed out and got dissed by the group (rightfully so) so he went for the bluetooth speaker box these days.

What was up with the upside down numbers ??

That guy hit the tunes as we started climbing Walkerville hill.

Maybe he's the same guy that's playing tunes in bunch at various races.

Er... Sorry Indigo Kid, can't tell you about the up side down numbers.

But yeah, I suspect you will hear the music at Meals...

I think mine showed a 3 minute difference - out the GL batch.

Not going to complain - I'm not the race snake I once (hoped I) was.

So that's 15 minutes slower than last year, so I gather I may be a group or two worse off for the 94.7 - again, not going to complain too much, as long as I'm riding and make it to the finish without crashing (or causing a crash), I'm okay.

Thanks - it looks like the following has happened:

  • GL: Racetec time = actual + 3 minutes
  • HL: Racetec time = actual + 6 minutes
  • IL : Racetec time = actual + 9 minutes

I've logged a query with Racetec and will confirm the feedback if and when I get it. Might be worthwhile for one or two more people to lodge a query. Would hate for the same thing to happen for other rides...

I also know someone who rode in IL - he timed himself at 3h58, Racetec shows 4h07. So you seem to have hit the hammer on the nail. This won't be the first time Racetec slips up. They've had timing issues on at least 2 races this year. Sometimes they fix it, other times they don't. :(

No matter how much out they are I still rode a shocking time I would rather have DNF behind my name than the small descrepency

I wouldn't show my face round these parts... Just give it up and grow back ur hair spartan.

This actually works out exactly, as i finished with a friend that started in IL(i was in HL) and we have been credited with the same finish time when we crossed the line together
