I wouldnt call it an attack at all, although I cant figure out why these guys took so long to leave the area.

 

Giraffe looks very curious and unsure at the same time.

 

Poor scott bike looks a in a bit of bad shape

Does not look loke an attack to me, calling it so is sensationalism.

Getting so close to giraffs can be dangerous, you need to keep far away from his guns.

Looks like the guy posed to close for a pic, girraffe moved closer, and he let go of his bike in his haste to get away. Bike got stepped on. Why on earth he was running around the bush is beyond me - my best guess is that he needed to stay in the frame for the vid.

in the papet today. looks like the giraffe did attack the guy. he ran behind a bush and the giraffe decided to trample his bike. when he tried to get his bike back it attack ed again.

Those two were looking for )*(&)(**(^. They should be banned from riding at Groenies again. Poor giraffe should have thrashed both bikes and not only the one. What if the giraffe associates all mtb'ers with those two idiots? Then he would be the one suffering, not them. Ban the suckers I say

I got chased by an Ostrich at groenies last saturday.......k@kked myself properly!

Was coming out of the twisty switch back section near the end of the loop when an Ostrich decided the trail was his.... I had to take evasive action (off the trail) .... thank goodness they burnt the grass there, otherwise I would have been in trouble..... the guy chased me for a good 200m.....

 

Found some speed and technical abilities that I didn't know I had

Quite dumb....... use available cover and get distance between yourself and the agitated animal. Giraffe can kill you with one kick, they even kill or seriously hurt even lions like that.

 

It seems in the video that these oukies are totally unaware of the danger.

Tonsils like this will be the reason why we wont be able to MTB in reserves etc in the future.

Same as the people that drive 80km/h in the 30km zone in Modderfontein.

What a couple of chops. I agree that they should be banned from Groenkloof. Good old golden rule, respect the animals and the trails. As easy as that. Maybe we should also show them the Strava Douche video.
