G00SE Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Pic taken with an Ibis Ripley. Same tyres, same wheels...we have ourselves a Mexican stand off! Would that be the Ripley that replaced my Mojo?
Iwan Kemp Posted October 2, 2013 Author Posted October 2, 2013 But you don't have any cleat pedals?! Sacrilege! Would that be the Ripley that replaced my Mojo? That be the exact one
Iwan Kemp Posted October 6, 2013 Author Posted October 6, 2013 And now with a 120mm worth of squish up front. Thanks to Cycle Factory for getting me one with 51mm off set. The Vipa turns out to be a trail shredder.
Jaco-fiets Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Cool bike! Hope these frames does not crack like their hardtails
Iwan Kemp Posted October 8, 2013 Author Posted October 8, 2013 Time has come to put some thoughts to keybord. But not tonight. A pic will have to do.
TopFuel Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 How are you finding the 50mm stem on an XC bike? I am very tempted, but am worried I'm going to ruin the setup of the bike. I essentially want to switch from a 110mm/680mm bar setup to a 50mm/720mm bar setup.
Baaisikilist Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 They not have the fork in black...? The one I tested had a black SID XX, looked too sweet.Hard to believe that's only 80mm of travel out back. Feels like so much more...

Iwan Kemp Posted October 9, 2013 Author Posted October 9, 2013 How are you finding the 50mm stem on an XC bike? I am very tempted, but am worried I'm going to ruin the setup of the bike. I essentially want to switch from a 110mm/680mm bar setup to a 50mm/720mm bar setup. I went with a Large from the off knowing I would run a shorter stem. Will not go longer than 70mm MAX on that bike ever. Running 725mm bars with the stem. I am as happy as can be. Climbing technical single track and the front stayed planted. Was actually surprised just how good the bike climbs with the longer travel fork and short stem. Give it a go I'd say. EDIT: Try 70 or 80mm with the 720mm bars first, though. Will go a long way as it is to give you better control.

Feels like so much more...Was set on getting a fork with 51mm offset - especially on the 120mm travel SID. Had to frankenfork a solution and my only option was white lowers and crown. Has grown on me...actually thinks it looks quite killer in the flesh. Breaks the monotony of the black a bit.
Iwan Kemp Posted October 9, 2013 Author Posted October 9, 2013 That white fork is an eye sore Good luck with that...

I can attest to this. It looks SUPER in the flesh.
