Jamen Posted November 20, 2013 Share Thanks to some inspiration from divernick a-polishing I did go. Cheated a bit by buying a polishing attachment for the drill from the local Builders Warehouse but it's still pretty much a dirty and LOOONG process. Pictures of the polished frame without any wax on yet. Did you sand it first befor polishing ?
Jamen Posted November 20, 2013 Share I think i also want to go this route ! So just enquiring :-)

Tractor Posted November 21, 2013 Share Did you sand it first befor polishing ? I used the paint stripper, then lightly sanded the entire frame using a fine sanding block and water, only once it was pretty smooth (but still quite dull) I switched over to using the polishing attachment on the drill. Maybe I should do an entire thread on the tech Q&A and detail the process? Gandalf, IndianRoadie, gummibear and 2 others

Tractor Posted November 22, 2013 Share While most people are fast asleep I'm busy polishing mtb cranks Started with the one arm last night and managed to finish it - it's sweaty, dirty, DIRTY, work; don't let anyone tell you otherwise! Some pics of the polished arm next to the unpolished one. Hairy, gummibear, mikkelz and 2 others
