Nice gentle ride out today, stayed with my partner's wife as it was her first race, still managed a 1:55 on the 35km so quite proud of her. He bailed after 15kms with a sidewall cut, 650b crossmarks are crap, about the 6th issue we have had on his bike in 6weeks.

Would love to see the official results... But kind of chuffed with my initial timing of 2:07 (35km)... We'll maybe not so much with the timing but rather that in actually managed to finish :-).

The first bit was really slow with regular stops as the crowd got into single file for some crossings and single track. After that I just took it easy, didn't want to tire myself out, but as it turned out my legs were still feeling quite strong after the race, my bottom on the other hand, that's a different story.

There were apparently over 1000 entrants on the day. I really enjoyed it, will definitely be doing that again.

These have not been adjusted for the 30 min delay, my garmin has us at 1:55 but results at 2:13, :-(

Scrap that, think my garmin was showing moving time. We lost a bunch of time on a sidewall cut, :-(

The only thing that I am really disappointed about was not the queues at the crossings, if you want to avoid them then you need to ride up front, but the PIGs that just dropped their empty water sachets after the water points, absolutely disgusting! One or 2 accidental ones fine, but there were dozens littering the track.

My first Mtb event and i finished it , luckily. 3.34

Under the 4 hours i wanted but i went out far to quickly for myself and paid direly for it after hitting the wall with 28km to go of the 60km event.

Big up to the organizers, the route was well marked all the way, thank you to the people offering up their Sunday to provide us with refreshments, it was truly a lifesaver for me. I second Bobbo_SA in the disgust at the condition the riders left the route after the water points.

VicanZA, nice to have met your bud, did you get your sub 2.30?

Awesome, thanks official time 2:10, still glad I finished :-)

I was just behind you then, 2:12.

Fun day out, really enjoyed it. The bottlenecks were a little annoying, but to be expected I guess.
