Have had 2 new bikes that came out wit RR's. Had a slit sidewall on 3rd ride on a section I've ridden for years on other tyres and never happened. Also had cuts in the tread section. Changed to other brand. Then latest bike also had RR's, plugged numerous "cuts" in the tread section until 1 too big. They were not snakeskin, but seem very soft.

Baron, was a bomb used to inflate the tyre when the stan's was still in it?

Capricorn.

I did not used CO2 bomb, I see Stans say on container that sealant will only stay liquid in thin casing tyres for 2 to seven months. On yhe Maxxis Cross mark tyres I used it did last longer, can be as the Maxxis casing is thicker than the Racing Ralph casing.

I see Joe's have warning on there container " Do not inflate with CO2 canisters" but Stans do not have a warning about using the CO2.

thanks for that feedback Baron.

Just to the RR users on thehub, how many are aware of the following caution, taken from Schwalbe's website:

NOTE: When converting light weight tubeless-ready MTB racing tires to tubeless, the process can

take up to 3 days of consistent sealing and sealant will seep from the sidewalls of the tires.

LIGHTWEIGHT MTB racing tires are inherently thin in the sidewalls and will require extra care.

Also, if your tyres dont mention Double Defense, which is High Density guard (anti puncture protection) in combination with Snakeskin (sidewall protection), then you have the lightest race tyre from Schwalbe. In other words, expect side wall tears and more punctures than those tyres with DD. Note in the pic below that the sidewall protection (grey) doesn't extend all the way around to the cap of the tyre, so no, snakeskin alone does not protection against punctures.

Also, after the 3 days of sealing a new tyre, you will have to refill your wheels with sealant.

It's the lack of refilling with sealant after a few days that probably causes tyres to suffer the Stans Sweat.

Lastly, another community service announcement/caution from Schwalbe:

NOTE: This is an out and out competition tire! Puncture protection and durability are limited!

My feedback (echoing what Capricorn quoted): They're not called *Racing* Ralphs for nothing. One doesn't just simply get light weight, high performance and durability in a single package. You need to pick two of the three.
