Thug Posted February 3, 2014 Share I'm thinking of a 32x18 for the marathon. Am I gonna suffer or should I rather choose a 19?
BrendonHumphreys Posted February 4, 2014 Share Does anyone know what the real vertical ascent is - as the mapmyride (804 m) (http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/349144283) is way different to the advertised (1800 m) in the race booklet ?

jcza Posted February 4, 2014 Share I would err on the side of caution and plan on the 1800m. I think you're right Thug marathons are normally between 1600 and 2000. Wish these guys would use a garmin. _David_ and RossW
DACoetzee Posted February 4, 2014 Share I would err on the side of caution and plan on the 1800m. I would also plan for 1800m total ascent... seeing as the route profile on Advendurance's website was closer to 1800m. The new profile doesn't show however
