Personally I think this is a genre that can take off in SA. Fat bikes are probably a bit much. 29+ bridges the gap between a fat bike and a rigid 29r  .

nail. head.

p.s. more pics of your bike please.....

I see this thread has taken off a bit, and I find it quite strange. I rode a Surly fat bike in Wyoming about a year ago - rental for a day and it was pretty fun, although it handled like a mule. But it does let you ride in the snow, which means you can ride almost all year round if you're at the mercy of bad winters. So I'm wondering why folk here are so keen on the concept… Maybe riding on the beach? But is there something that I'm missing?

Maybe folk are bored of their single speeds and looking to the next fad...

From MTBR.com

I just received my Custom Wiseman frame and built it up last night. This frame currently has 26x3.8 in it, but can be ran as a 29er, 27.5 or a 29+ or a 27.5+ when then are actually available.

This is a 73mm bottom bracket shell with a symmetrical 135mm rear end. The cranks clear with plenty to spare as does the chainring thanks to some fantastic fabrication. I have the wheel slammed forward and the chainstay is just over 17".

Hey Al - still pick my SS for most of my rides  .

Rode my SS recently for the first time in a loooong while.

The most fun I've had with my legs close together.

Still have a smile on my face
