Stage Racing

Hi All,

As part of my New Years resolution I would like to do my first stage race this year. Are there any that you could suggest as a starter that I could enter as a solo rider that won't scare me off the multiple day scene?

Thanks

My first stage race was tour of legends.

Not a single event though, its a team event.

But no tents, no carrying and packing of crap.

Just a hotel room and good food and lekker riding in big 5 country.

Route 66 is rocky, the second day at VG is tough.. Done most of them last year, I think the Sani is the most rider friendly and will give u scare at just the right time.. It 280km the longest of the 3 day events, but very rideable.

Also a good one to get out the way.

its at the end of the year now but i did sabie xperience in dec and it was great. too short really (for me) but they made it like that to make it more accessible. really beautiful up there too

Look at the Tankwa Trek as well. It is pretty challenging but at 4500 zar all in for 3 days of awesome riding it is more reasonable than most as well.

Solo riders welcome... Either that or the Sabie Experience. 4 days of riding for 1650 (roughly) but you provide food and accomodation.

Origin of Trails in Stellenbos is also really good.
