For some reason if there is blood in your wee, the Dr starts asking a lot more questions.

And the last time I was on the bike was the 11th of December. Can see the effect on the bathroom scale as well....

You should NOT NOT NOT NOT have blood in the urine - get to a urologist asap - emergency room if you can't get in, and they will call the on duty urologist.

Stay off the bike too.

If you were diagnosed with an urinary tract infection, and put on antibiotics, it`s acceptable to have blood in the urine (just like a throat infection can also be bloody and red).

I would suggest you complete the antibiotics, and repeat the urine dipstix in two weeks to see if there`s still blood present.

If so, it should be worked up to see whats wrong.

This thread is probably a perfect example of why asking for medical advice on the internet is NOT a good idea! Maybe even specifically not on a cycling forum?

But back to the thread... blood in urine is not a UTI (especially if you can see it)... listen to V12

Go Google ' Hemorrhagic cystitis '

Or here's a link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hemorrhagic_cystitis

Blood in urine Can occur with a UTI.

I just don't think its necessary to send poor Francois into a state of panic about his hematuria just yet. I think he should first complete his course of antibiotics, and then be re-evaluated after that, and referred on if the hematuria persists.
