You should NOT NOT NOT NOT have blood in the urine - get to a urologist asap - emergency room if you can't get in, and they will call the on duty urologist. Flowspeed Posted January 6, 2014 Share If you were diagnosed with an urinary tract infection, and put on antibiotics, it`s acceptable to have blood in the urine (just like a throat infection can also be bloody and red).I would suggest you complete the antibiotics, and repeat the urine dipstix in two weeks to see if there`s still blood present.If so, it should be worked up to see whats wrong. I think he should first complete his course of antibiotics, and then be re-evaluated after that, and referred on if the hematuria persists.
