Cippo Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Follow these simple steps: Get yourself a big enough Ziploc bag that will accommodate the bladder (You can fold it in half)Rinse the bladder after EVERY ride if you ride with anything other than waterPour all the water out, fold the bladder in half and put it in the Ziploc bag. Squeeze all the air out the bag and seal.PLace the bag in the vege drawer in your fridge until your next ride. I have been doing this for the last 5 years and I have never had a science project grow in the bladders. It is a good idea to mix up a cupful of Milton and a litre of water and let that stand in the bladder for 24hrs every few months (3-6 months) as well. Gets rid of anything that might be there that you can't see. I carry a bottle on hot rides to pour on my head only. I got jippos once from a dirty bottle riding in the valley behind Westmead. Never drank from a bottle again. I use a bladder in my hiking bag and after washing out I pop a couple of plastic golf balls with holes in and let it air dry with top off.

Cassie Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 A cheap pump! Sitting on the side of the Monster, about 10km in, trying to reinflate a tyre with a sucky pump can be quite frustrating. This is the only ride that I've been on that I littered. I think I almost managed 80m. Man, you must have been hacked off!! Ever tried javelin as a sport?? I also prefer bottles but my new bike only takes one as well. Don't have a problem carrying a camelback but I agree, it's a mission to keep clean. What do you guys put in your Camebak's GU gel?? I use mine with water only...and i don't need to clean anything out of it...NOTHING grows in there....I jusr rinse one before filling up and that's it...If you want enery drinks put thta in water bottle...keep the Camelbak for water and bike spares!! My first and only set of Mtb shoes I purchased 7 years ago were Olympics. Still going strong, not a days trouble. Agree 100%...bombproof....I'm on my 2nd set in 5 years now...

Got them on my first MTB - almost impossible to clip out of in a pinch, and somehow allow your foot to roll sideways over the side of the pedal. R 100 Giant pedals and plakkies would be a better combo. Thats very strange to hear. All people I know that own a set of Time ATAC pedals love them
