Hi

I'm looking for a lift for Cape Town to George and back. A friend of mine is unable to ride Karoo 2 Coast this weekend and gave his entry to me. Please email me at mielakleyn@gmail.com or phone me at 073 409 9155 if you can maybe help me.

I only need a lift for myself. My bike is already in George as I'm actually from George but I'm studying at Stellenbosch University.

Car packed, just killing some time then i pick the wife up from her work and we are driving through to Knysna. Good luck to everyone, if you see a fat guy in a blue FA shirt (I stand out) with a Giant XTC, say hi!

In tent hoping to get some sleep before the start.

Rather bummed by the, (?)lions member, tannie serving the pasta. You get a sticker when you register, for the pasta meal, some riders gave theirs to a security guard and some local kids, they stood in the queue to get a plate of pasta and she refused to serve them. Yes it says on the sticker for riders only but if you paid for an entry surely you have a right to decide who eats your plate of food. What kind of heartless b#%&h refuses hungry kids a hot meal? Someone was going to eat that food regardless. For a "charity" organisation seems like a load of bull% to me.

Why I never trust a dogooder, its almost always for their own benefit.

That was brutal. 3:36 I'm disappointed as I know it could've been at least 10mins faster. Wrong position on the descends meant that I lost the bunch cause the leading ladies can't descend & left a gap too big to close. Dropped chain didn't help the cause either. Hand held up pretty well.

Or maybe you can't position yourself in the group properly to ensure you don't get dropped?

yeah I acknowledged that already, it was my fault for being positioned wrong.

That is a great time nonetheless. I remember on the Atta thread you mentioned that you ride 1x10. Did you ride with 1x10 and what size chainring did you use?

Thought around 5:00 to 5:30 was possible, took me about 6:12. Was very surprised that the first 45km odd was about 1000m worth of climbing (according to my Garmin which registered a total of 1800m). Lesson learned, K2C is a tough one. Downhill's was fun, some were insane thanks to the organizers posting officials on route to warn us.
