camelman Posted February 19, 2014 Share Had the spindle of a look pedal break once. What caused it was the bearings that broke and the broken bearings then started to cut through the chrome coating and then the metal of the spindle. Metal fatigue on a shaft of that size should not be the problem at all, unless it is hollow. Look to see if there is any oxidation on parts of the face where it broke off. It might have been cracked for a long time. You will see the colour difference between the recently broken part and the part that has been exposed to the air for a while. Post a pic if you can. Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted February 19, 2014 Share Common problem with Crap brothers pedals. Not only confined to the candy or eggbeater pedals. On the mallets as well. Sure fire solutions - buy shimano. Alternatively solution - buy shimano. Iwan Kemp and Warren_G

Hell I am on my 5th Dale and my 3rd set of eggbeaters and I have not ever broken either - starting to feel left out. plus my Rugby team is not broken either. Breezer Posted February 20, 2014 Share Crank brothers peddle spindle broke right off. Looks like metal fatigue. Who else experienced the same.I broke 3 eggbeaters sets, all broke on the same place, but I wont use anything else. I only changed from eggbeater 2 to 1, because they cost less and do not last any longer.
