Mojoman Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Found all of this awaiting me on my ride yesterday afternoon. I was in this area last Sunday so the scruffy git dumped his trash in the last 5 days. Its really off the beaten path and I bet he wasnt counting on someone finding it so soon. Spent a bit of time kicking through everything and found lots of documentation....belonging to...wait for it.....a DOCTOR! Its really disgusting as well as shocking that someone that is well educated can do such a thing, There are old bills, plane tickets, restaurant slips,hotel vouchers,certificates and loads more. As well as old pills and other medicines! I left a message on his phone yesterday and will try again this morning.

I saw an oke 100m from the entrance dumping his black refuse bags in the bush. Ridiculous man.

I found it rather interesting.I was on my way to a nearby town the other day, with me was a black lady from our office.On the way back she had bought herself a packet of chips and a juice.She finished it, rolled her window down and dumped it.I wasnt happy and told her so.She explained to me that black people see it like this; By littering you are creating a work opportunity for somebody as somebody has to be employed to pick up that litter. You are playing an indirect role in job creation.It just wont work in Bloem. The city manager will rather use the money to buya new BMW and pay non performance bonuses to council members.
Mojoman Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 This is the second lot of rubbish I have found on a ride and was able to get the owners details. The first lot had been dumped by a local that really should have known better (I also personally know him), the dump was under 1.5km away!!! He was a bit shocked to get the call and picked his stuff up a couple of days later (after another call!). South Africans really need more pride in their country.

Tell the good doctor you'll send it to the local paper if he doesn't clean it up. I'm sure there's rules he's breaking right there for dumping old meds. I don't get why anyone needs to do that? What did the guy you know say?

What did the guy you know say?Its in an area west of Magaliesburg. I am tired of finding rubbish dumped in my area, sometimes I think the countryside is looking worse than the cities! The guy I caught the first time said he had sent his staff to dump some rubbish at the dump. His rubbish was found in the middle of a crop field that I cut through sometimes ao his staff must have been up to something dodgy to be there in the first place, maybe picked up some beers in town and went there to drink them?!He sent his guys to pick up the rubbish the first time I called and all they did was pick up the documentation that had his name on it and left the rest so I had to phone him again to collect the rest of his trash. Kind of annoying. I will give the Dr a gap till Monday to sort this out otherwise I will be informing the police, newspapers, medical authorities and anyone else who will listen. He was listed as being at Wits as well in the Health Sciences department. I just wonder why you need to dump like this? Magalies dump is open all the time and no-one seems to care what you dump so he could have taken his crap there. Instead he chose to come out to Magaliesburg from JHB, drive down a sketchy abandoned dirt road (that would need a 4x4 really to clear the rocks and gulleys) and leave his rubbish behind. Surely if there is a load of documents with his details on then he can be held responsible even if someone else dumped it for him?

Lame old excuse for just being an arrogant selfish rapist of the environment.....and laughing at your privileged right to have clean, safe and healthy surroundings. Next time don't offer a lift and if the question arises why not.....it is your contribution to generating job opportunities in the transport industry. Edit: And job creation in that sector is more a charity grant than any thing else. The productivity is laughable at best, nowadays they won't remove rubbish if not packaged correctly by you and they can go on strike for a job skill that almost everyone in the country can do better. Wish some of the major cleaning companies will go and look at the best practices (and equipment) internationally.

Especially seeing how there are medicines in amongst the rubbish and as a Doctor he knowingly disposed of these in general household rubbish? The odd thing is its a long way out from where his practice is so I am wondering if he has not bought property here or knows someone in this area.

Mojoman Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 I have just spoken to the Doctor, apparently they are moving house and hired in a refuse removal company to dispose of the waste/rubbish. He seemed quite shocked and astounded that the rubbish wound up all the way out here in Magaliesburg. I have asked for the details of the removal company.

I saw a guy throw a coke can out of his bakkie window at the traffic lights so I got out and threw it back into the car.

Who knows where else they are dumping rubbish?
